    No. All bank accounts of the deceased are immediately frozen upon death in the UAE. They can only be accessed after obtaining the Grant of Probate and completing the transfer of ownership.
    Jointly owned property does not automatically transfer to the surviving owner. It still forms part of the deceased’s estate and requires probate before any transfer of ownership.
    Yes. If the deceased was a UAE resident, probate may be needed to release insurance proceeds and distribute overseas assets. However, some assets outside the UAE may require separate probate in their respective countries.
    Yes. A foreign Will can be considered, but it must be legalized, attested, and translated for UAE courts. Having a UAE-registered Will significantly reduces complications.
    Yes. Heirs who are overseas can still participate in the probate process. They may need to sign documents remotely and provide legalized Power of Attorney if they want a local representative to act on their behalf.
